Fruto de la simbiosis entre un alga que realiza la fotosíntesis y de un
hongo que proporciona humedad y resistencia a la radiación solar, los líquenes
son sorprendentemente resistentes a las diferentes condiciones climáticas que se
dan a lo largo del año. Varían en función de los factores ecológicos del lugar en
el que viven: la situación geográfica, las características del sustrato en el
que crecen, la disponibilidad de agua, etc.
Por
su conformación, se dividen en líquenes crustáceo,
fruticulosos, arborescentes, foliosos y gelatinosos. Su
abundancia en la zona es muestra de la calidad del aire del Paraje Natural.
Las
imágenes están tomadas a lo largo del año en diferentes condiciones de
temperatura y humedad. Las hemos dividido en los que crecen sobre árboles (epífitos) en esta entrada y sobre rocas
en la próxima.
